Office 2016 for Mac Now Available



The newest version of Office for Mac is now available as a donation through TechSoup South Africa!

Eligible organisations can request the full Office for Mac suite or the individual Outlook or PowerPoint applications.

New Features for All Applications in Office for Mac

  • User interface: The Office for Mac applications now have the familiar look and feel of Office for Windows.
  • Improved compatibility: You can access your Office for Mac content on Windows PCs, tablets, phones, and Office Online without losing your content or formatting.
  • Retina display support: Office for Mac now supports the higher resolution of Mac Retina displays.
  • Cloud storage: Office applications integrate with OneDrive, OneDrive for Business, and SharePoint, so you can access your files across devices.
  • Accessibility: Improved support for VoiceOver, Apple's built-in screen-reader for OS X.

New Features in PowerPoint

  • Threaded comments: Multiple users can comment and reply to comments to have a conversation in the document.
  • Conflict Resolution view: Visually compare conflicting changes in a presentation to get help in deciding which version to keep.

New Features in Outlook

  • Message preview: You can see the first sentence of an email below the subject line to preview the contents.
  • Online archive: Move messages from your inbox to an online archive on the server to make space in your mailbox.
  • Side-by-side calendars: See multiple calendars in parallel.

A New Addition: OneNote

OneNote is now included in Office for Mac.
